As long as the short-term lease agreement is active, you are responsible for the car. This means that the deductible in case of damage, traffic fines, cleaning, and similar matters are your responsibility. However, this does not mean that you are the only one allowed to drive the car. You are permitted to lend the car to others, but you remain responsible for the vehicle.
This means that you must make clear agreements with the person to whom you lend the car. In the case of friends, family, or acquaintances, this may be self-evident. Moreover, it is possible to jointly sign a lease contract if, for example, you regularly share the car with your partner. In that case, you both share the responsibility.
