We also advise you to take out good travel insurance and/or an International Driving Permit (IDP). After approval, you are insured abroad. It is NOT possible to drive to Turkey or Morocco with our cars.
Always ask for permission
With Blankert Shortlease cars, you are generally only allowed to drive within the borders of the Netherlands. Therefore, always ask for permission in advance if you want to take your short-term lease car abroad. Additionally, we recommend taking out travel insurance and/or an International Driving Permit (IDP). If we approve your planned trip, your car is also insured abroad. In case of problems, you can always rely on this. If necessary, you can also claim replacement transportation.
Why is permission necessary?
A lease car is always owned by the leasing company. In our case, Blankert Shortlease. Therefore, the car is not registered in your name. As a driver, you may need to provide authorization – also known as a lease or driver’s statement – in some countries. This proves that you have permission to drive this car abroad.
NOT possible to go to Turkey and Morocco
Are you planning to travel to Turkey or Morocco? This is not possible with a lease car from Blankert Shortlease. It is contractually prohibited to travel to these countries with our cars.
