The main reason for many to choose a (short) lease car is that all worries are taken off your hands. You pay one monthly fee, which is automatically deducted, and you no longer have to worry about costs for maintenance, road tax, insurance, and possibly repairs. The only exception to this, as we often mention, are the fuel costs: those are still your responsibility. But what about fines?
You are responsible for these yourself, of course. And although fines in the Netherlands are addressed to the owner of the car – in the case of leasing, Blankert Shortlease – we will pass these on to you. We also charge an administration fee of €9.50 for this. If you wish to appeal against a fine, you can do so with the CJIB.
